OPEN SOURCE PC CASE
Project: Monolith is an open source computer case that I designed and fabricated during sophomore year of high school.
Objectives: The main driving design factors behind Monolith was for it to be as small and space efficient as possible while supporting standardized computer components, and for it to retain good thermal characteristics. These objectives were completed through an iterative design process that combined extensive CAD design, thermal research, physical prototyping, and research.
Result: At 8L, Monolith is the smallest Micro-ATX case in the world that supports the industry standard M-ATX Motherboard form factor, and a full size Graphics Card and Power Supply. The design has been received well by the community, and has influenced others to create their own versions. The completed computer build was featured on the front page of Pcpartpicker, ranked the #5 website in the world for computers/electronics, which receives 20 million + visitors per month.
